Abstract Art uses a visual language of form, colour and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Artists felt a need to create a new kind of art showing the fundamental changes taking place in technology, science and philsophy. I have always loved looking at abstract art and trying to understand if there is a meaning behind the design, shape and colours.
"Abstraction indicates a depature from reality in depiction of imagery in art"

Having only joined Instagram about two months ago with Android, I felt I needed to talk about it on my blog!! It is a great new photo sharing program that was launched in 2010 and has over 30million users to date... I think for people that love taking photos this social network service is amazing, I would regularly take photos on a day to day basis using my camera phone but to share your photos with your followers and friends makes it even more enjoyable. You can have followers from all over the world and get to enjoy what they see everyday with them!

Final projects continued.......
For my ALTO project we had to work on advertising, point of sale, business cards and more...
Below is my Letterhead that I designed and in keeping with the overall theme for this project you will notice that colours, text and pattern is the same as my overall package design.
The image on the left is the front page and the image on the right is the back.
Hope you like it!!!!

Final Projects!!
As college has finished up, I want to show a sneak peak of my designs that I have created for some of my final project work.
For our Corporate Identity class, our project was based on a new software being launched by Adobe (not real of course!) and we had to go off and research and create our designs and ideas of what we would want the new packaging to look like.
Here is my final design, I presented this in a DVD case:

Photography!
I think another key part in Graphic designing is photography, I have always loved taking photos and when you get images like the below from a standard digital camera it just shows that its nature that created the beauty of it! I think you can work with any photos using photoshop to enhance them or create something different as shown in my older posts.
The below image was taking with my 5megapix camera phone using an app called polaroid that simply but a border around it! Its that simple these days :-).......

Exhibitions
I have come across some amazing competitions, shows and
exhibitions that are being held all over Ireland and throughout Dublin this
summer.
The best one that I found that has given a great brief is an
Exhibition that is on in May 3rd – 6th called ‘FOR THE
LOVE OF’, this is a music festival on in the ‘Beatyard’ in the Bernard Shaw but not just a music festival
they are asking all artist with different medium skills to create a design that
represents your expression as to what music means to you. Your work will then be shown in the venue and hopefully sold.
Check out the link below and get creating!!
